First Haircut

After much debate and wringing of hands, Jack got his first haircut today. We went to this place that had a "Baby's First Haircut" package - haircut, before and after photos, a lock of his hair and card to keep them in. He did really well, didn't cry at all. He made a couple of unsure faces but he kept his cool. He loved the car they sat him in. He played with the steering wheel the entire time. He kept looking for the horn. It didn't have one. We can't tell if he looks like a big boy because of his fancy new do or if he looks like a little baby because he has less hair.

Here's the card they gave us...
Also, he got his first french fries afterwards. With ketchup.

A Couple of Videos

Jack playing peek-a-boo with us behind his ottoman.
Quick one of him close-up. You can see the awkward hold I have on him as I try to sit him still on the counter. You can see his scrunch nose face again. And at about the 7 second mark, you can hear the late Tunis girl.

Tikis and Teeth

Here he is modeling a new shirt that has little tikis all over it and as well his Converse. He's also making his new scrunch face in one of these shots. In teeth news, he's getting his 5th and maybe his 6th teeth. His top left tooth is breaking through and we think the right is just under the surface now.

R.I.P Tunis

Jack's oldest kitty, Tunis passed away today. Amazingly, she was 19 years old.

"Swim" Class

We signed Jack up for "swim" class at the Natatorium. It's only a half hour for four Thursday nights. I put "swim" in quotes because it's really more just getting them used to the water, not swimming. Peter and Chloe signed Michael up too. We had a fun time. The first thing you try is to see if you can get them to blow bubbles in the water. Poor Jack got a few mouthfuls of the super-concentrated chlorine-laced water. For several seconds we were worried about him because he look so green around the gills, his eyes were watery and he looked doped up. But then he snapped out of it and was having fun again. He mainly did a lot of splashing.

After got home, we gave him a bath. I tired to give him a mohawk (or a faux hawk) and his hair is so long that he just ended up looking like a punk rock Ed Grimley.

This is as screenshot from a short video clip. It shows the new scrunched up nose look he does when he grins really big.

On July 4th, he wore his red, white and blue "Little Slugger" baseball jersey. He had the cap on long enough for these funny pics.
