A Swing and a Hit

Jack Boy tossed on his bucket hat, slathered on some sunscreen and headed out to one of the parks in our neighborhood today. He got to take a ride in a swing for the first time. He seemed to like it. He also slid down the slide on his dad's lap. In other news, Kirby slept in the shade of Bradford, the Bradford Pear tree.

Jack's Amazon Wishlist

We started an Amazon Wishlist for Jack. I put the link over on the right of the screen a couple of weeks back, but then I found this cool widget that shows you the items on it. Check it out on the right. We just threw mostly books on there for now. When we have time, we'll update it more.

Random Shots

Here’s a bunch of photographic randomness since it’s been a couple of weeks. Oh, he also got introduced to "Puffs" which are kind of like organic Cheerios. He hasn't grasped the concept of picking one up and eating it though. And he got carrots, which he liked.

I like this one... "Don't look now but there's something going on over to my left."

Time to Lower the Mattress

You heard me right. Yep, that big boy is starting to pull himself up. Here’s a funny shot that Heather took on Thursday after Jack woke up from his morning nap. Sneaky bugger looks like he’s pretty happy with himself. He had been showing signs of starting to do this and I predicted it would happen by the weekend and sure enough, it did. Check out the photos of him using his Bumbo as a pull-up toy.

He’s also really close to sitting up on his own, that’ll probably happen soon. He’s doing all these new things all at once. Now if I could only get him to learn to mow the lawn. Or play shortstop for the Yankees.

The Boy is a Crawler

After weeks and weeks of “army crawling”, doing “the worm” and a freaky hybrid of scooting and violent lunging, Jack finally crawled on Sunday. And now he’s a crawling fool. He’s all over the place. He’s loves to go after Kirby. Kirbles will lay down in the same room with him, Jack will see him and start taking off for him, but before he gets close enough the grab him, Kirby gets up and moves. Kirby has no time for Jack’s attentions. He must have better things to do. Like sleep and drool. Sounds like the life to me.

8 Months Old

Here’s Jack’s 8 month photo, a little late due to the fact that my computer died and I had to buy a new one. So I wasn’t able to update the site for a while but I’m back up and running. I love this shot of him, the way he’s got his hand and how he’s smiling makes it look like he’s saying, “Heeeeeeeyyyy!!!”

Go Speed Racer Go!

“Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer, he’s a demon on wheels”
When we dropped Jack off with Heather’s parents a few Saturdays ago, we went out to eat with them and then went to Babies R Us next door. They put Jack in this little walker that is a red convertible sports car. He loved it. The next day when we came to their house to pick him up, he was sitting in it, fresh off the showroom floor. They went back to BRU that morning and got it for him. He hops up and in down it and pushes himself around and bangs into furniture and cabinets. And sometimes scares domesticated felines as they lounge about unsuspectingly.
